From Higashi-Nakano station

Please go to the east exit of Higashi-Nakano Station. Go straight ahead after leaving the ticket gate. Walk out to the bus/taxi circle, and bear left walking under the roof.

You will come to a large street (Yamate Dori) with a grass median separating the lanes of traffic. This street also has a wide sidewalk with pedestrian and bicycle lanes on each side of the street.
Take the crosswalk to the opposite side of Yamate Dori where you will come to a convenience store named “Family Mart”.

Please turn left at Family Mart and walk down the sidewalk along Yamate Dori.

You will pass a 7-11 convenience store on your right.

As you continue down Yamate Dori you can see Hikawa Shrine on the opposite side of the road.

As you get close to the theater you will see a Western Steak restaurant named “Geronimo” on your right.

Directly next to the restaurant is a delivery place named “Sagawa Express”.

Next to Sagawa Express you will see a parking lot with many vending machines. You can see Noh Theater Hall signs in Japanese Kanji letters “梅若能楽学院会館”.

Please do not pass the parking lot as this where you will access the entrance to the theater.
Please proceed through the parking lot past the vending machines and under the trees.

At the back of the parking lot you will see a private home with a fence and a gate directly in front of you.
If you pivot right, you will see Umewaka Noh Theater. As you walk toward the theater you can see large glass doors. This is the lobby entrance of the theater. If you are attending a performance you will enter through these glass doors.

If you are arriving at the theater for a workshop, lecture or rehearsal, please continue past the main entrance to the rear entrance door. This door is to the left of a flight of stone stairs. Please do not go up the stone stairs. Please enter the door next to the vending machine.

Please take off your shoes, and place them in the shoe storage boxes. There is no need to wear slippers. Please go up the stairs to the second floor, and turn right. You will see a large room with tatami mats. This is the second floor classroom.

If you need to proceed to the 3rd floor there is also a classroom similar to the 2nd floor classroom.

Please go to street level using the either Exit A2 or Exit 2 of Nakano-Sakaue station.

Please walk straight down Yamate Dori.
You will pass a convenience store named “Mini Stop” on your left soon followed by a fire station. As you proceed down the hill you will come to an intersection. This is the intersection of Yamate Dori and Okubo Dori. Take the crosswalk to cross Okubo Dori, and continue walking along Yamate Dori.

There is a small road just after you cross Okubo Dori. Please do not turn left onto this road. Please continue walking along Yamate Dori.
